Learning Vicariously – From Other Leader’s Lives – Using the Leadership Mandate
by Dr. J. Robert Clinton
This position paper recognizes that leaders will never have enough personal experiences to learn all they need to know to lead effectively as God would have them do. It suggests vicarious learning as a means for developing beyond one's personal experience alone.
The Leadership Mandate of Hebrews 13:7-8, gives a firm Biblical rationale for vicarious learning. The paper gives help on learning vicariously from 3 sources: Biblical leaders; historical leaders; contemporary leaders.
